World Wilderness Forum, Day 2

Today is the second day of WILD9! The World Wilderness Forum consists of full-day plenary sessions, in keynote format with no question/answer sessions. Topics include:

• Photography keynote by Michael “Nick” Nichols;

• The Wild Answer to Climate Change, by Dr. Thomas Lovejoy;

Corporate Commitment to Wilderness comments from Mexican Foundation for Environmental Education, CEMEX, Club de Industriales, Grupo Bimbo, Coca Cola (Mexico), Mountain Equipment Co-Op (Canada);

• What Would Nature Do? By Dr. Trista Patterson;

• International Cooperation for Wilderness with representatives from Canadian, US and Mexican Governments;

• Signing Ceremony: First ever Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for Wilderness Conservation, between Mexican, Canadian and the United States agencies;

• Global Wilderness Commitments, focus on Russia, South Africa and Europe;

• Photography Keynote: Wild Wonders of Europe - Staffan Widstrand; and,

• Launch of Wilderness by Vance G. Martin and Patricio Robles-Gil.

Evening Events, 8pm onwards – Frans Lanting's LIFE: A Journey Through Time -- a multi-media show featuring the photography of Frans Lanting and music by Philip Glass-- conducted by Carolyn Kuan and featuring the Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.
